Presenting the awesome

FLFA-4000 Water-Less Furnace

TWO DOORS (one on each end) and 2 ash trays!

It has TWO full-sized furnace fans on it (2020 CFM each), to better heat a large building - with a total of 4 ducts ( 2 supply and 2 return). It has a 69" firebox (almost 6 feet long) that is 3 feet wide and has two firebox doors; one on each end, to better and easier load the furnace. It also has a forced air induced draft fan with automatic dampers on it. to feed oxygen into the fire, from the bottom, like a blacksmith's forge!

It is rated at 205,000 BTU, burning a good hardwood like oak.

Firebox Capacity: 41 cubic feet and is 1/4" thick (as thick as most boilers on the market)

Firebox Dimensions: 69”L x 31.75”W x 31.75”H

Thermowind Model FLFA-4000

NOT permitted in Washington state.

This is NOT a boiler and most laws speak about Outdoor Wood Boilers. So that MIGHT be your loophole.

Please check with YOUR state, county and town before buying because some states, counties and towns have their own state EPA or other laws!

Tell them that you want to install an outdoor hot air, waterless wood furnace.

If that is a no-go, ask about a COAL furnace, which is virtually the same and will burn wood even better because it has the 75 CFM forced-air induction blower feeding oxygen from the back, up through the grates, just like a Blacksmith's forge; giving you a super hot fire that will burn anything!

FORCED AIR, HOT AIR WOOD Furnace and Kiln Heater

Perfect for a kiln because it has TWO huge 2020 CFM blowers, that are needed to better dry your wood!

The Army Corp of Engineers used this model of furnace to heat their big warehouse in the Midwest.  They ran two supply ducts into the building, with one going to the left and one going to the right, to the ends of the building.  They put the returns in the center of the building (length wise) to give the best air circulation; drawing the hot air back to the center of the building to be reheated.

Although there are two supply and two return ducts, this design is intended for one building because there is only one controller on this furnace.  If you want to heat a second building with a separate thermostat, we can add another controller and another forced air induction blower for you for a small additional cost.

You will like the design of this furnace because even though it has an almost 6 foot firebox, you don't need to load 6 foot logs in it.  You can easily load slightly less than 3 foot logs through each door, which makes loading a breeze.  This furnace holds 41 cu. ft. of wood, which is almost 8 MILLION BTU of oak.  There is also an ash tray on each end of the furnace to easily clean out your ashes without resorting to shoveling out the ashes all the time.

Concrete Pad Diagram

FLFA-4000 Pad Diagram

We recommend a 4" thick concrete pad to carry the weight of these furnaces because this model weighs 3630 pounds

You will need a substantial pad so that the boiler does not sink into the ground.

You can also use solid 4" concrete blocks or even pavers.   Many people use railroad ties for support.  The choice is yours.

20-year ON-SITE WARRANTY

1: 20-year ON-SITE WARRANTY!

- VERY IMPORTANT, with Hyprotherm you won't have to pay shipping back to the factory to get it repaired! We come to you for any major repair. FYI, other manufacturers will charge you to ship it back to your home after it is repaired, as well! (10-years on water jacket)
430-ton Press Brake

2: 430-ton Press Brake

We are the only manufacturer that uses a press brake to form a firebox and air jacket; both from 1 piece of metal.

Most everyone else uses 6 flat slabs of steel, with no inherent strength and that requires 12 welds because welds are the weak spots.

This new firebox and air jacket are formed using a 430-ton Press Brake, meaning less welds which means less potential for air leaks because leaks often start at welds; Almost as few welds as on a cylinder; Only 4 welds vs. 12 welds on a typical firebox. Three times less!

Cast Iron Grates

One inch Thick Solid Steel Grates

3: THREE Solid steel, ONE INCH THICK coal grates have great longevity and they do well.  Shaker grates, are cast iron and are available as an option, mostly for those folks burning a lot of coal, where the coal is inclined to have clinkers.

Our smallest models have one grate, this model has two grates and our largest models typically have three grates.
Pull-out Ash Tray

4: Pull-out Ash Tray

Most manufacturers make you open up the firebox door to clean out the ashes with a shovel.  You will quickly find out that you are not going to get anywhere near the firebox because it will be 800 F or more!

They want you to open the firebox door and you will need to leave it open to let the heat out and I call that wasting heat.  You will need to kill the fire to be able to shovel out the ashes and then you have to start a fire again, in the dead of winter.

With our furnaces you do it the easy way.  Even with a fire raging, you can pull out both of the ash trays, dump the ashes into a fire proof container and slide the tray back in without missing a lick.  Two handles on each ash tray make it easy.  These ash trays are HALF the length as the firebox.
75 CFM forced air blower and TWO 2010 CFM furnace fan

5: TWO 2010 CFM 3-speed furnace furnace fans on each end and a 75 CFM forced air blower with damper in the middle.

Square outlets are optional

Blowing oxygen in under grates

6: 75 CFM forced-air induction blower, forcing oxygen up through the grate (s), just like a blacksmith's forge!

In this photo, you see the SolarGuard insulation on top of the Knauf, giving it an extra R-10, even up to almost R-12 plus it combats the three types of heat loss.  This is significant seeing that this product is only 1/4" thick.

Hopsco Wadena vs Hyprotherm

FYI: If you are heating HALF as many square feet as our rating, you can load it just ONCE a DAY!
REMEMBER! There is no such thing as a furnace that is too big because it is NOT like an air conditioner,
where if you get one too big, it becomes inefficient.

This is like getting a bigger propane or oil tank! You can load it with more wood (full rounds - no splitting!) and it will burn longer and therefore you will load it less often.
No one has ever complained and said that I sold them one too big.
In contrast, many people have said,
"I wished that I listened to you!"

²     OUR Flue drops down into the firebox 14 inches, trapping in the heat and the smoke but more importantly, the gases, due to this huge secondary burn chamber, which will be burnt off; valuable heat energy that would have been otherwise lost, up the flue.
