A 9 foot long firebox is the perfect size for loading two rows of 4' pallets, giving you plenty of room for loading and air flow. A 5' height allows you to stack pallets on end when they are 4' tall. Likewise, a 4' width will allow you to place them in the furnace standing up.
You can also place two piles of pallets in the bottom. Your choice!
