Subject: Outdoor air to air furnace
Hello Ben
I have been reading your web site with interest and wanted to ask you some questions and explain what I have to see if this may work for me.
...I built the shop and my house 8 years ago. When I built I purchased a Central Boiler classic 7260 one of the larger boilers to heat both that shop 5000 square feet and my house which was approx 2400 square feet. Both the shop and house had in floor radiant heat.
After only 7 years following all the PH testing etc the boiler started leaking. I brought the boiler back to Central at my own expense expecting warranty would cover the unit as they claimed it had a 20 year warranty. Of course after the usual BS they told me that the boiler was unsalvageable due to rust pitting and rot. Of course they would honor their warranty and would apply $1000.00 to the purchase of a new one which of course was now nearly $16000 dollars. To say the least I was a PO’d. They explained to me that their warranty only covered material not labor and that they were actually giving me a good deal. Of course this only got me more PO’d and I told them where they could stick there furnace you know where. Not only did I have to pay the $16000 but they had since redesigned their furnace and my concrete pad and piping would no longer fit the new furnaces so I would need to make a new pad and re-excavate the water lines to move them to another location...
I am one of the unfortunate Central Boiler owners,
and yes it did start leaking at the 2 year mark, and I am sure you
have heard this sob story over and over, so I won't bore you.
So, I am looking for a new stove, yours looks great, and after having
one, I can appreciate the things your stove has, I am looking for a
price to replace my CL5648, and of course I do have all of the extras,
pumps, domestic heater, etc, just looking for the stove.
Thanks,
Dan

Furnace
arrived into the UK and all the charges were paid, customs etc.
It
went straight on a truck to France – reason it came into the UK is no
language problems and also that UK import taxes are lower than France.
Once it sin the the it can cross EU borders with no more tax.
Anyway
its at my friends warehouse in France now, I gave it a quick look over when I
was last there – I must say it is an amazing piece of equipment and I am
very, very impressed.
Best
regards - Nigel

Hello-
I am an owner of a... 165 outdooe furnace since last summer. Got us through the winter with very even, consistant heat. I do not find anywhere in the manual where you recomend what I should do for the summer months. I have it shut down and will not use it again until the next heating season this Fall. I do not have anti-freeze in the system. Should it be drained for the summer or should I leave it full?
Thanks for making a good product,
Dan W

Subject: Question
Ben,
Good morning! Hope all is well. I wanted to let you know that all is well with my new...furnance. I have set the thermostat in my house to 80 and I ahve not looked back! I should have done this years ago. I have a few questions.
1) Does the manual fill valve have a backflow preventer for the freshwater fill? If so, can I get a diagram or somehting in writing from the complany that states it is there?
2) Any luck on the catyltic converter?
Happy New Year!!!
Thanks,
Frank
(Note: Yes, there is one-way valve installed - Ben)

Hi Ben ,
...By the way the unit works great , I'm very happy with it , I get 10 - 12 hour burns . Stocking times are 6:00 a.m full load ; 4 to 5 peices of wood around 4:00 p.m and then a full load at 9: 00 p. m . This seams to be working for me , I hope that all of your customers are so fortunate .

250 Furnace
Ben:
Attached are a couple of photos of the ... 250 Furnace,
front and rear view. The farm house in the first photo was built around 1880 and
remodeled in 1965. It is not well insulated and with the present propane boiler
had a hard time keeping the house warm besides the cost to heat. The furnace
sits about 50 feet from the house. The ... Furnace keeps the place toasty
warm even when the temperatures was in the low teens and with strong winds. We
still have the propane furnace as part of the system as backup and for when we
are gone for a few days. This was a self install and I added some controls to
the furnace to be able to monitor and control from within the house. The furnace
pad is a split level with the furnace being about a foot higher. This was a
personal choice to aid in loading and cleaning. At present I am just heating the
farm house but will in the future, as time permits, I will be adding two out
buildings, both workshops to the system. The underground lines are! ! already
run. My furnace water temperature runs around 150-160 degrees and I add wood
twice a day in cold weather. I am very pleased with the furnace operation. I
will say it definitely is one very heavy furnace and the delivery gentleman and
I had quite a time getting it in the pad because of the tight and hilly area
that the trailer had to maneuver. It is a well built product. More like a
military tank... Carl M. R.
